PFREUNDT Managing Director Ludger Wissing hands over to the next generation

Ludger Wissing has taken his well-deserved retirement after 28 years as Managing Director of PFREUNDT. From now on, his son Jonas Wissing and his daughter Judith Deitert, who have already been part of the management team for two years, will take over the management of the manufacturer of mobile weighing systems. The company handover was celebrated together with more than 650 employees, their families, friends and people they know as well as customers and suppliers at a large party on the Südlohn premises.

With the invention of the first mobile weighing system for a wheel loader, Hans-Günther Pfreundt laid the foundation for the PFREUNDT brand in 1979. Thus, the company's history was characterized by innovative strength and pioneering spirit from the very beginning. This was exactly the reason for Ludger Wissing to join PFREUNDT as one of the first six employees after completing his studies in electrical engineering in 1986.

In 1995 he then took over the management of the family business and had a great influence on the development of PFREUNDT into the worldwide innovation leader in the field of mobile weighing systems. Under his leadership, the first weighing electronics with touch display, the WK60, was developed, the company's product portfolio was expanded to include weighing systems for a wide variety of vehicle types in the mining, waste disposal and recycling, agricultural and industrial sectors, and a software solution for the digital processing of weighing data, the PFREUNDT Web Portal, was launched on the market. During his time as Managing Director, Ludger Wissing also permanently campaigned for a less bureaucratic procedure for calibrating scales.

PFREUNDT has not only continuously developed technically. The team of almost 100 employees and the headquarter in Südlohn have also grown steadily. In addition, a worldwide sales and service network has been established, with PFREUNDT representatives in more than 30 countries.

"The company is an important stage in my life, because I was able to spend a lifetime doing the work that was a hobby for me. That is why I am very pleased that my children will follow in my footsteps and continue this task with heart and soul," says Ludger Wissing. When asked what makes PFREUNDT so successful, he always emphasizes: "It's the people who drive the company forward." Judith Deitert and Jonas Wissing share the same attitude in this regard. "We involve our team in all important processes because we know that the best solutions are created together," explains Judith Deitert. Jonas Wissing adds, "The employees are happy to take on responsibility and also handle the trust they receive from the management very responsibly."

The two siblings are looking forward to their new task and the exciting challenges in the future. They will continue to develop the successful corporate strategy together with the employees, secure the innovative strength of the company with the newly introduced innovation management process and further expand the international marketing of PFREUNDT weighing systems in close cooperation with the worldwide PFREUNDT representatives.
